3rdparty_03-20-14.pdf_600_.jpg
Date:
Monday, April 07, 2014
Time:
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Event Type:
Panel Discussion
Organizer/Author:
Jessica Hiller
Location Details:
UC Davis Law School, King Hall
Room 1001, Kalmanovitz Appellate Courtroom
400 Mrak Hall Dr
Davis, CA 95616

This will be a debate between three two person panels from three third parties (the Libertarians, the Green Party, and the Pirate Party). The key purpose of this event is to provide an informational platform for the voices of third parties who are often drowned out by the majoritarian Democrat/Republican ideologies. By providing an opportunity to showcase third party schools of thought, we make the first steps towards breaking the illusion of choice provided by a two party system.

The debate itself will consist of two parts: at the beginning each party will have a chance to do a 5-10 minute introduction of party as well as personal platform. The rest of the event will be a presidential style debate.

Among our distinguished guests:

Laura Wells, the California Green Party Controller candidate and Jena Goodman, the Green Party candidate for Lieutenant Governor!

Orion Steele, Vice President of the California Pirate Party.

Stephen Blakeman, Yolo County Libertarian Party Chairman

So come on out to the NLG Culture Week kickoff event and enjoy the spirit of political debate in a way you rarely get to witness!

Food will be served!
