A special lying down event with audience participatory experiences featuring performances by Stephen Hurrel (Scotland), Andrea Williams & Lee Pembleton and Jon Porras. Co-presented by The Bold Italic

The Unconscious World examines our subconscious and altered states of realities. Sound artists Andrea Williams and Lee Pembleton take the audiences through a SleepWalk, a multi-sonic performance emphasizing the process of dreams and collective dreaming. The audience is encouraged to sleep and then journal their dreams at the end of the event to record their impressions of their own subconscious world.

Scottish artist Hurrel creates the multimedia event ‘Beyond & Beneath’ where he invites audience members to lie down and listen to real-time sounds of the earth moving and shifting underneath us to explore the effects and anxieties of potential earthquakes on our individual psyches.

Musician & Film artist Jon Porras uses waveforms interact and synchronize to create a personalized mythology in the (sub)conscious of the viewer with a Super 8 film + composed sound piece. The Unconscious World unravels a powerful intimate and secretive world within each one of us, beyond the physical world and realities.
