No more housing for the 1% until we house the 99%!

Come demand housing for working people, not city subsidized housing for the wealthy or corporations.

Protest plans for development of luxury condominiums at 8 Washington St (adjacent to Golden Gateway) as well as the conversion of rent controlled apartments at Golden Gateway to corporate use.

Golden Gateway has joined with Oak Hill Gateway Partners LLC in an effort to build 8 Washington ST., a luxury condominium complex where condos will sell for between 2.5-7.5 million dollars--housing for the richest of the rich. Their plan actually has built into it a city subsidy of $5 million. Worse, besides building housing for the 1%, Golden Gateway is destroying housing for the 99% and is systematically converting rent controlled apartments to short term corporate housing, for use by executives of Wall St. corporations. Even worse: Golden Gateway has manipulated tax laws to underpay the city of San Francisco between 23-30 million dollars in taxes--money which could fund affordable housing, teachers, health care or social services.

Demand that the city deny permits for 8 Washington, that the city top Golden Gateway from converting rent controlled apartments to corporate housing and that the city investigate Golden Gateway's tax scam and collect the $30 million in taxes which Golden Gateway owns.
