Michael Warr performs poems from The Armageddon of Funk with guitarist Todd Brown, saxophonist Prasant Radhakrishnan, bassist Sascha Jacobsen, and Howard Wiley on drums! Expect one of the poems we perform to be my San Francisco poem “Manchild” (tracing the transformative path of first aspiring to be a pimp and then wanting to be like Malcolm X) backed up by a live rendition of John Coltrane’s “Equinox.

On Saturday, April 28, Michael Warr combines poems from The Armageddon of Funk with music again. Musicians include and guitarist Todd Brown, saxophonist Prasant Radhakrishnan, bassist Michael Shiono, and somebody great on drums. Fort Mason, Readers Cafe, San Francisco, 3-5pm, FREE
