AASF: Professor Matt Normand Speaks on the Need for Critical Thinking

This month Atheist Advocates of SF features Dr. Matt Normand, a Professor of Psychology at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, speaking to us about the need for critical thinking. “If atheism is not about critical thinking, then it is just another religion -- and it is not!”
"The underlying assumption of this talk is that a good society is an educated society and one that does not become easy prey to pseudoscientific claims. “
“My take-home point is that without the ability to critically evaluate the world around us, we fall prey to anyone wishing to sell us goods or services, regardless of their efficacy, effectiveness, or even harmful qualities. We need to teach our children, ourselves, and our neighbors well."

When: Sunday, March 11th, at 3:00 to 5:00 PM (Meeting will start promptly at 3:00)
Location: Audre Lorde Room (Upstairs), Women's Building, 3543 18th (at Valencia), San Francisco, 94110
