Register for the 2011 West Coast Activist Summit! http://members.greenpeace.org/survey/start/399/

This training takes place December 2nd-4th and is open to all people impacted by environmental injustice on the West Coast - California, Oregon, and Washington. You'll learn how to fight for the causes you're most passionate about through trainings on community organizing, telling a powerful story, developing strategy to win campaigns , the purpose of nonviolent direct action, and more! Additionally, you'll have the chance to build relationships and network with other Greenpeace activists and organizers.

Our movement is reaching a boiling point. (See: the Tar Sands Action, Tim DeChristopher's sentencing, the biggest toy company on earthcaving to Greenpeace pressure, students at Michigan State University risking arrest to shut down the coal plant on their campus.) If you want the skills to make a difference and empower your community, this is the place for you!

The West Coast Activist Summit will be free of charge to participants and vegan/vegetarian meals will be provided.

Participants will be responsible for securing their own housing for the duration of the training. Once registered, a support person will get in touch with you to provide you with local housing resources and help you coordinate your transportation.

A limited number of small housing and travel scholarships will be available. Please fill out the registration form for more information, and feel free to call or email me with any additional questions.

Additional Info

The training starts in the afternoon on Friday the 2nd, and ends in the evening on Sunday the 4th. Here are the specific start and end times for each day. We recommend you show up at least ten minutes prior to each start time.
