Free Radio Santa Cruz Changes Frequency to 101.3 MHz

by Uncle Dennis
Free Radio Santa Cruz has changed to a new frequency - 101.3 MHz - to better serve its listeners.
After they came back on the air recently, listeners in many areas complained that they were getting interference from KION in Salinas.

If you believe in conspiracies, then KION paid a lot of money to convert a 10 watt Christian Rock station (Air One) in Carmel (that didn't really interfere with FRSC), upgrade its location and equipment just to force Free Radio Santa Cruz off of 101.1 MHz, then had the FCC come around in August just before they powered up the new equipment and scare a landlord into getting FRSC to move.

KION may have forced FRSC to change frequencies, but the Free Radio hasn't changed their determination to bring non-corporate, alternative news and programming to the North Monterey Bay area. Please tell everyone you know about this change and have listeners tune just to the right of the old frequency to 101.3 MHz.
