Workplace shooting in Cupertino
Father, worker and public access producer is alleged gunman in Cupertino workplace shooting.
On Wednesday October 5th 2011 an employee of the Lehigh Quarry in Cupertino opened fire with an assault rifle and a pistol killing three of his co-workers and injuring 6 others.
After shooting the employees he then drove off, abandoned his car a few miles away then attempted to car-jack a car. The shooter then shot the attempted car jack suspect. She is expected to survive.
The alleged shooter Shareef Allman, who was a long time public access show producer and a father of two, may have become disgruntled at his job and snapped. An aquaintance says this was not like him. "Something up on that hill must have caused him to snap."
As of 5pm the manhunt is still active.
