Palestinian statehood and the struggle in the Middle East

In the face of opposition from the U.S. and Israel, the Palestinian Authority is seeking admission of the State of Palestine to the United Nations. The bid for statehood comes in the midst of mass upheavals across the Arab World. Why is President Obama, who claims to support a Palestinian state, threatening that the U.S. will veto the Palestinian application? How will this impact the struggle in the region and the U.S. attempts to “manage” the crisis there.

La convocatoria de la condición del ser estado se da durante grandes levantamientos en el mundo árabe. ¿Por qué esta el Presidente Obama, quien según apoya el estado palestino, amenazando que los EE.UU. vetará la aplicación palestina? ¿Cómo impactará esto la lucha de la región y los atentos por los EE.UU. en “manejar” la crisis aya?
