Oscar Grant Verdict
The Meserlie trial may come to an end as early as Friday.
No matter what the verdict is,we will be at 14th and broadway at 6pm the day of the verdict.
The court will render its verdict. We will also render ours.
We are not advocating for violence or the destruction of independent businesses but we must not be afraid. We are not demanding anything revolutionary. We simply want to see justice.
Oscar Grant is a representation of how the police see minority life. Oscar Grant's life was deemed insignificant. Johanes Meserlie chose to use deadly force on an unarmed, restrained and injured man. Now his defense is that he thought Oscar had a gun.
Its the same old story."I thought he had a gun,so i put a bullet in his back" = not guilty.
NOT THIS TIME!
If you have any questions or want to help, you can call me directly.

Evan Shamar said he left the demonstration and watched on television as the situation got worse.
"I was devastated by it," said Shamar, 24, a photographer who lives in Oakland. "I worked diligently for the past 72 hours, and for it to be destroyed by a group of anarchists was extremely upsetting. I felt like my integrity had been compromised."

The best way to help prevent a police riot is to have a lot of witnesses. I urge folks to not shy away from protests, but to join in them and observe the police. The pigs are a bit less likely to riot if there are a lot of people there watching them. If the police start to riot, move to safety, but don't go home, stay within eyesight, if possible. Take notes, take down names of cops if you can.
The National Lawyers Guild is holding a legal observer training in S. F. tonight. You don't need to be an attorney to be a legal observer. Below is info.:
From the NLG
I wanted to remind everyone that the National Lawyers Guild is offering legal observation training this Wednesday in SF from 6-7:30 pm. The announcement is on the bottom of this email message if you didn't see it earlier. This training comes at a critical time, as the Bay Area police are gearing up for the demonstrations that will almost certainly follow the verdict in the Oscar Grant case and there is little doubt that the NLG will be totally swamped.
With the training this Wednesday night, and a possible verdict very soon after, I don't know if anyone will be prepared to observe, but it seems possible. If you've ever been tempted to do this training, now's the time.
Legal Observer Training
Wednesday, June 30, 2010
Become a certified, NLG legal observer! Come to a training at the NLGSF office in San Francisco from 6 - 7:30 PM, Wednesday, June 30. The office is at 558 Capp Street, upstairs.
Legal observers monitor law enforcement at protests, demonstrations, and other political actions involving free speech and/or civil disobedience. Legal observers have collected evidence that has ultimately been helpful to activists facing false charges in criminal court or to activists suing police departments.
NLG legal observers must be trained and have signed a confidentiality agreement. Contact Carlos at carlos [at] nlgsf.org to RSVP or with any questions.

Prior to inciting public attacks on law enforcement, a person should be required to at least be able to type one intelligible sentence in their native language. They should also have command of at least 1 common punctuation mark. By this standard, Gary's recommendations should be tentatively stricken from the record until such time as they can either be restated in some known language, or decrypted.
We appreciate your willingness to "fuck tha man" but it becomes difficult to tell if you know who the man is, and by what means you would actually deliver this fucking, to whom you would bring harm, and for what reason.
We know if this were their child, the entire event would be different, that’s a maybe, especially if that child happened to be considered of color. More so than not, the American justice system is happy being so antiquated that in 2010, it is still going on 1892, the year of the most recorded lynchings of black people in America. With no consideration of, and for a change in sight, site, or cite.
Do not expect any major outcry from our churches or the NAACP for the reasons listed on this web site. http://hushmoney.org/501c3-facts.htm
