Stand with the People of Haiti
The people of the world are responding in solidarity with the people of Haiti after the devastating earthquake which struck on January 12. Meanwhile the US has turned the tragedy into an opportunity by sending over 10,000 troops that can be seen only as a military occupation.
Come to a benefit forum and dinner for the people of Haiti this Friday February 5 at 7pm, Centro Del Pueblo, 474 Valencia at 16th Street near the 16th street BART in San Francisco. Come hear what the US government and the corporate media are not telling you. Featured speakers will be Pierre Labossiere; Haiti Action Committee and Walter Riley, Haiti Emergency Relief Fund who was in Haiti when the earthquake struck.
On the 7th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq mass protests will be taking place in Washington DC, Los Angeles and here in San Francisco on March 20. People will gather at the Civic Center at 11am for a rally and march. This demonstration will be calling for the U.S. to get out of Iraq and Afghanistan as well as for Haiti that needs aid not occupation. This protest will also be calling for reparations to Haiti for the vast wealth that has been looted from the country for centuries by foreign imperialist countries.
