Scientology Cult Vulture Ministers Distract Hospital Workers
Yet another Scientology cult press release describes the further depredations of its "Vulture Ministers" in developing countries. The "article," one of dozens issued each month by the cult, tells how the Vulture Ministers taught their useless "tech" to the personnel of a hospital in Bangkok, Thailand.
According to the press release, the Vulture Ministers wasted the health care workers' time by showing them how to do "assists," Scientology's ineffective and potentially dangerous approach to treating patients, trauma victims, or anyone else that will sit still for a few minutes. In most cases, they consist of a sort of creepy, inappropriate light massage, accompanied by recitation of Scientology jargon.
Although Scientology has been forbidden by the courts of many countries to make claims of medical efficacy, the press release lies that the assists "greatly increase the speed of healing by addressing the emotional and spiritual factors in illness and injuries."
Interestingly, the press release does make one true statement: "Where tendency to disease or injury exists, or where disease or injury is being prolonged, or where unhappiness and worry causes mental or physical upset, we are dealing in the realm of Scientology." Scientology does indeed create all of those situations.
Now that so many people in North America and Western Europe are no longer fooled by Scientology's faux-humanitarian persona, the cult is increasingly targeting less-wealthy countries like Thailand, Brazil and India.
No matter how much phony, "feel-good," happy-slappy propaganda Scientology releases about its Vulture Ministers, it doesn't change the truth about these unskilled, obstructive cultists: Their goals are to give the impression that Scientology is a benevolent, ordinary religion, and to recruit more paying customers. Fortunately, no matter how many self-congratulatory press releases they write, they are not having much success with either goal.
