(3) I tried Ananda Fuara once,
when taken there by (relatively) affluent friends.
Food was good.
But personally, I usually eat at
St. Anthony's Dining Room (free).

(4) I think there may be some
Chinese vegetarian
restaurants in SF
which didn't get mentioned
by sfgate??
Chinse veg tradition
( using soybean curd [tofu]
in place of meat)
seems to be ancient;
designed for devout Buddhists,
especially monks and nuns.

Also, Southern India has
its own
ancient tradition
of Hindu vegetarian cuisine;
while northern India
has been
culturally debased
by Muslim and Christian
meat-eating traditions. ]
