Polor Bear on the endangered list - policy makers convinced that Global Warming is here.
Once you witness for yourself the Polar Bear in his or her own environment - majestic as they are - there is no way one can imagine them without the Polar Bear habitat. Global warming is here and it is here because of humankind. The United States has contributed to Global Warming in a big way and encouraged others like China to look the other way when it comes to the carbon footprint. In our arrogance today - we made some decision to list the Majestic Polar Bear - on the endangered list of sorts. But, are there other detail laws, complete with empirical data - that could have further exposed the cause and affects - and spoken about the truth for all the world to know?
When some heard that the Polar Bear was put on the endangered list - they was some relief in some quarters.
It is not as if the problem is going to go away - just because the United States through its premier agency - the Department of Interior - agreed to say so.
Kudos to the Environmental Groups that fought the United States and brought about this change.
But, as many in the field will know there are several other mandates and laws that could have spelled out in detail and given empirical data - to really vouch for the demise of so many Polar bears, penguins, seals, and other animals living in those habitats with the Polar Bear. Most of them vanishing and who is going to put all these species on some endangered list?
The United States continues to spew particulates into the air - and while there is talk about Carbon Emission - little if nothing has been done all over the Nation. California has some bragging rights - by mandating Cleaner Air Standards - and that is good.
Here in San Francisco our dumb SF Supervisors were all set to place Four Combustion Turbines CTs) - one at the Airport and 3 closer to the Bayview by Pier 80. Led by the most ignorant of them all - Sophie Maxwell.
Of course the SF Supervisors - were pretending to tell us - that know that it was OK for these dangerous particulate spewing CTs to be placed. But, lies go just so far - no one will spend in access of $300 million and run the CTs for just a limited time.
Knowing the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) especially folks like Barbara Hale - who can look you in the eye and lie.
The Raiker Act was created so that San Franciscans could use cheap hydro-electric. What ever happen to that Act and why is Pacific Gas and Electric making money? Who do you think are the Share holders? Could it be the Pacific Heights Mafia?
So, Joe Kennedy Jr. suddenly awoke from his slumber and now all hell has broken loose. He even sent a letter to his brother-in-law who happens to be the Governor of California to look into the matter - linked to the polluting CTs.
It is amazing to see how policy is made by those who are in higher authority - just like the policy that governs the Polar Bear and its late listing - on the endangered list.
Global Warming is here and its affects have left a trail - both at the South and North Pole - but more importantly up the mountains - from Kilamanjaro to Everest.
In certain areas like Australia there has been a drought for two years running. Closer to home in the East Bay - people have been asked to conserve.
Here in San Francisco with a population of about 780,000 we get all our water from Hetch Hetchy.
Never mind it was stolen from the First People of the area. These Sacred Waters were once respected and revered. Even today when I visit the local tribes - the best gift they can give me - are the Sacred Waters from Hetch Hetchy.
Never mind San Francisco brings it down - mixes it with other water - and freely use it to flush toilets, wash cars, hose down the streets and do whatever one should not be doing. We must learn to conserve water - and use recycled water for mundane uses.
Global Warming and Climate Change is here. Our coastal areas will be flooded in the near future.
One has just to visit the Piers and the coastline by Candlestick Park and see for yourself - what the future holds.
Today, some little history was made - to put one species of a kind - very majestic on the endangered list. If we the two legged - supposed to be homo sapiens - do not get our act together - it will be a paradox if we - put ourselves on the endangered list.
I see frogs - all kind of species gone, gone forever. Thousands of plants and tree species. Add to that birds, animals, and you get the picture.
There is one greed species of a kind - that will go to any length to make money.
Steal oil to make cars to pollute the Earth. Cuts trees to build homes, furniture, without taking care of what the consequences will be. Build factories that spew particulates and the worst toxins into the air.
Till the Earth and pollute just to make money - Monsanto and Del Monte.
This one single greedy species of kind has done all this in last three hundred years.
Two hundred years when Lewis and Clarke - first landed on the West Coast - most everything was pristine. So, closer home - we can see what we have done to our environment.
Look at San Francisco and the concrete jungle - and see the Greed that is written on its face. Thousands of acres of wetland - filled in - and now plans are amuck to build sky scrapers. And we know the Big One will visit us - soon.
Land was stolen from the First People. Women and children raped. The animals slaughtered, fish caught until they became extinct - greed know no bounds.
Even the majestic Redwood trees were cut not so much to fulfill the needs of the day - but to make money. It is still happening today.
Well, today as will tomorrow - is time to reflect and always remember the First People that respected Mother Earth. They used a little - because they knew they had to keep this Earth for those that would live tomorrow.
But, there is one kind of species that will use Greed and go to any length to make money - because it is money - the mundane that this kind of breed - worships. Brings disgrace to the rest of humankind and know the world over - for wasting, invading, colonizing, bombarding, killing, and thinking it is fine to do injustice.
