The People Strike Back with PeaceMovies.com
The goal of PeaceMovies.com is to be the change you want to be by supporting the purchase and rental of movies with peaceful messages and/or that are relatively non-violent.
PeaceMovies.com
(For now, this is the same site as http://www.pagesincolor.com. The peacemovies.com url should be up in 2-3 days from now.)
Are you sick and tired of the constant genocide of the aliens and the blowing up of everything at the end of your otherwise favorite movie? Do you think the movie universe should be filled with loving beings like ET and the Monolith creators in 2010? Then Strike Back!
Submit your favorite non-violent movie title with synopsis to pagesincolor [at] riseup.net for inclusion in a new e-book of non-violent and alternative-to-violence type of movies. Respondents who are the first to respond on behalf of a particular non-violent movie or alternative to violence movie will be given instructions on how submit affiliate urls that link to sites that sell their favorite movie(s) so that they will recieve a portion of the revenue due to the back-end sales generated by the e-book.
The goal of PeaceMovies.com is to be the change you want to be by supporting the purchase and rental of movies with peaceful messages and/or that are relatively non-violent. Some studies do show that people are more prone to violent behaviour after watching a violent movie or even while waiting in line for a violent movie.
Besides that, we are conditioned from birth to expect violent outcomes to certain situations, based in part on watching all of those violent movies. Even movies like A Wrinkle In Time are little more than watered down versions of Die Hard, what with their implicit interplanetary genocide, or meaningless, totally plot disconnected violent attacks against unicorns and so on that are simply glossed over by a group of glassy eyed kids, who claim that Love solved their problem at the end of the movie. We need to find real alternatives to violence in the movie universe and promote those over the likes of the latest bang-bang-the-aliens-are-dead movie. Then when our minds are free from violence, maybe the real world will become less violent.
