Jordi
Location Details:
The meeting is going to take place at the Fellowship of Humanity, which is a kind of Community Center in Oakland where you can rent the main hall to have meetings and discussions. Fellowship for Humanity is located at 390, 27th st. in Oakland, between Telegraph and Broadway. If you come from SF you could exit at Broadway Auto Row South. You will want to make a right on Broadway at the end of the exit and go straight until you reach 27th st. Then make the right again until you reach Fellowship of Humanity, which is going to be at your right. If you have any other questions about directions go to www.yahoo.com, type in maps and you will be able to find good resources for directions.

East Bay Coalition Against War is a group of people from the Bay Area that met together for the first time on Friday September 21st to discuss and start promoting activism within the Community. Among the different opinions that we had and shared we voted to narrow our movement and actions to fight: - against US military retaliation, as well as war; - against scapegoating and social discrimination; - for our freedom and civil rights; We are going to be in the rally at Dolores Park, in SF next Saturday. We are willing to contact more groups of other activists to expand the voice of peace and try to make people understand that war is not the answer or the solution to stop a conflict; that there have to be another solution, which is something that we are going to discuss as well; that innocent people does not deserve to die, neither in the United States or in Afghanistan. This is what the meeting is going to be about, finding and figuring out ways by which we can spread out our voice and become bigger and bigger, joining other groups, writing letters to magazines and newspapers and radio stations, discussing how we should organize ourselves for up coming events and rallies among other issues, etc. It was really interesting the first time and we are hoping that next Monday will be even more interesting since more and new people will join us. I hope we can meet you there. You just can come in and be a guest and decide joining our group if you believe in our objectives afterwards. I hope to see you there. Thank you. Jordi, member of the Outreach group.
