12/18: Federal Judge Yohn threw out the death sentence of Mumia Abu-Jamal. The State was ordered to conduct a new sentencing hearing within 180 days. If the state does not conduct a new hearing Mumia will, according to Yohn's ruling, be sentenced to life in prison. The rest of the 29 challenges brought before the court by Abu-Jamal's lawyers were rejected, and he was denied a new trial. Details

A rally to support Mumia Abu-Jamal's was held 12/7-9, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the incident that led to his frame-up. Police clashed with the peaceful mass protest in Philadelphia on 12/8, resulting in many arrests. Read about how you can help the arrested. Photo of police conduct. Arraignment Report on Arrestees.
